Introduction to the book It’s Not About You

Introduction to the book

It’s Not About You!

Ó1992, By Marilyn Ellsworth

While in turmoil with Shands Hospital at the University of Florida over their thefts and sex discrimination against me, with personal injuries, God began to give me regular and prophetic dreams.  Only later would I receive, either from Him or my husband, the interpretation of those dreams.
In the first dream I was driving down a familiar stretch of road as if going to work in the morning, approaching a green light from quite a distance away.  Traffic was flowing easily and heavily.  Then I heard the words “stale green.”  There the dream stopped.
When I awoke, I asked my husband, a preacher and ex-deputy sheriff, what “stale green,” meant.  He said it is a patrol officer’s phrase for a traffic situation that is about to change from “go” to “stop.”
While everything was going well at work for me in the visible arena, I took that to mean that things were happening underneath, or in the background, that were about to make that change, and I had best be prepared for it.  So, we started saving money and paying off our small bills, so that IF and WHEN I lost my job, we’d still be able to make our commitments without my income.
Then, just weeks after that first dream, I had another terrifying dream.  Immediately, I knew it was prophetic.  God was working in all this, though I couldn’t see how.
In this dream, again, I was driving a vehicle at night along a crowned-top country road.  Suddenly, with no warning, the earth split into a huge chasm ahead of me and I fell into it, car, and all. The car stayed level, even as it plummeted.  I was caught in a terrified, dry, silent, scream in the dream.
As the car plummeted, I could see the earth zipping past in front of the headlights.  After a long time, there was a “whoosh” sound, like compressing air being squeezed, and then a gigantic “splash” as the car went underwater.  I was still caught in a single dry scream, with no sound coming out of me, as I watched bubbles rising in the headlights beam.  Then the bubbles began rising more slowly.  Then they reversed, and I knew the car was going up again.
Suddenly, the car popped above the surface of the water and the water lifted it back onto the road, on the other side of the chasm, intact.  Neither the car, nor I were the worse for wear from the event.  The water then drained off the crowned top road, and into the ditches at the side of the road.  The car engine was still running, and the lights were still on, so I put my foot on the gas and continued on my way, trying to catch my breath.
That was the end of the dream.  I pondered it for three days, in silence before I said a word to my husband about it.  On the third day, The Lord, Jehovah, told me “Your world is about to be torn apart in the natural, but be of good cheer, for I, The Lord of Heaven and Earth, your God, have allowed it to be so.  You will be terrified in the natural going into the experience, but you will go in knowing that I will bring you unscathed up and out of it onto the other side, and your life will go on just as it was before.  But I will bring you through the test in a way you think not, nor by a way you have known in the past.  Behold, it will be by My Spirit, and by your faith.”
Three months later, I had another dream.  In it, I was in my supervisor’s, Annette [Higgins] Smith’s, office in the Volunteer Services Department, and she had somehow chastised me verbally.  That part didn’t show in the dream, but I knew it was bad.  Then, I heard the Lord, inside me, say, “Ask her these three questions: Have you ever lied to your superiors?  Have you ever stolen from your employer?  Have you ever deceived your employees?”  Then the dream ended.
The next day, I found myself in that exact situation in her office, with a person from Human Resources who was taking notes, and I was unexpectedly fired from Shands “for having an discussing with another employee, a third employee’s performance evaluation.”  That had been done in conjunction with an investigation of Mrs. Smith authorized by Steven Sloat, the VP of our Marketing Department.
When the termination notification was over, I boldly looked her in the eye, and asked her those three questions:  Have you ever lied to your superiors?  Have you ever stolen from your employer?  Have you ever deceived your employees?”  She looked at me defiantly, and said “No!” to each question.  Then she added, I’m not the one of trial here!”
I heard these words come out of my mouth, “That’s what you think!”
I knew the Holy Scriptures say, [Mat 12:37]  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”  She had not lied so much to me as to God Almighty, Jehovah!  And He, Himself, would judge her, for His Word also says, [Mat 7:2]  For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
It also says, [Pro 28:1  The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.”  [Pro 28:5]  Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.  [Pro 28:18]  Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.  I knew she had just fallen into the pit she had dug for me, and her fall would be permanent, for it is also written, [Pro 6:12-15]  A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.  He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;  Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.  Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.”
Judgment had come upon her and she didn’t even recognize it.  I simply smiled at her confidently, left her office, picked up my things, and left to meet my husband in the hall to go home.  I had just begun an unforgettable journey with God that seal my destiny!
Jehovah God led me on an amazing journey through four court hearings in three court systems, acting as my own attorney so I could do everything His way, winning on all counts, and being able to write and publish a book about the ordeal titled It’s Not About You!  [It’s about God in you showing Himself faithful!] and a screenplay!   The book and the court documentation are on sale at www.lulu.com/marilynellsworth.
Surely, it is true as it is written in Holy scripture: [Heb 10:30-31]  For we know Him that hath said, ‘Vengeance belongeth unto Me, I will recompense,’ saith the Lord. And again, ‘The Lord shall judge His people.’  It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
